Kosmich Black tee

It’s been almost two months since we moved into our new purpose built printing studio in St. Margaret’s House, and since then we’ve been totally run off our feet with loads of really interesting projects. This week we have worked on a diverse range of prints for some really cool organisations and independent brands, from locally here in Edinburgh to much further afield. Here are just a few of our top picks:

New Leaf Co-op Tees

This is our first run of t-shirts for the fantastic folks over at New Leaf Co-op, after previously printing Organic tote bags for them. New Leaf Co-op are an awesome Edinburgh based workers-run collective that sell vegetarian whole foods & goods. Check out these ace new t-shirts we just printed for them:

New Leaf Co-opThe New Leaf Co-op are passionate about providing fresh, organic, local produce and are committed to lowering food packaging. They opted for eco friendly, 100% organic cotton tees from Anvil. These guys also win the award for the best tagline ever – ‘The Pulse of the People’ , we love a good bean based pun!

If you haven’t heard of the New Leaf Co-op yet then you should definitely go and check them out, especially if you’re based in Edinburgh. Hit them up here for more info, or go check out their Marchmont shop here.

Kosmischer Läufer

Dubbed ‘the secret cosmic music of the East German Olympic Program’ – Kosmischer Läufer is the musical genius of  Martin Zeichnete. As an amateur runner in the 1970’s, influenced by bands such as Kraftwerk, Zeichnete had the idea of using these hypnotic beats to train athletes. Due to licensing restrictions enforced by the DDR, the East German Olympic elite were his only audience – until now! Edinburgh based record label Unknown Capability Recordings have collected & released the forgotten tracks, and they are really pretty damn cool.

Kosmischer LauferThis is another great reminder that sometimes less is definitely more, and opting for a single colour print can be both economically & aesthetically effective. Monochrome designs are a timeless classic – the simplicity of the white on black looks bold & sophisticated, stick with this and it’s really hard to go wrong. This is our third run of Kosmischer Läufer tees, this time printing on gold tees as well as the original black.

Kosmischer Läufer translates as ‘Cosmic Runner’, and it’s really worth a listen. You can buy & stream the tracks via bandcamp here, and be transported back to 1970’s East Berlin.

Ayrshire Roller Derby Merch

Our main printing press has been taken over this week by the many arms of the Ayrshire Octopus! This is our second batch of merch for our roller derby friends across in Ayrshire, and we have printed an absolute tonne – from merchandise to performance team wear, this order was a biggie.

Ayrshire Roller DerbyWhile it can be beneficial to keep things simple, these great new Ayrshire roller derby prints are a good example of how effective a more complex design can also look. Ayrshire have gone for a whopping six colour screen print for their current merchandise, and it looks totally awesome.

This six colour design incorporates green, black, purple, yellow, grey & sand coloured inks across a selection of different coloured tees, totes, hoodies and performance vests.

You can keep up with Ayrshire Roller Derby here for all info on their upcoming games!
